For people who are not unionized and are interested in trying to unionize your workplace, there are a number of excellent resources. The Inside Organizers School is run, mostly, by Workers United members, who have helped Starbucks workers run the most successful unionization campaign in the US ever. Over 550 stores and counting. Labour Notes is also a great resource, as well as Organizing for Power, but IOS is the gold standard for unionizing non-unionized workplaces.
I don't think it makes much of a difference just because Unifor has committed itself to fighting for issues that don't only touch auto. All I can say is watch how Lana Payne responds to these things. So far, I don't get the sense that they're following the strategy of the UAW.
"And many unions’ leadership are the membership’s worst enemy."
I keep thinking about this line. Can you elaborate?
Do you mean that many in leadership roles will still promote conservatives, to the detriment of the membership?

All awesome, thanks.
There's also the Canadian Freelance Union for self-employed people -- http://www.canadianfreelanceunion.ca
I think subscribers should use this chat to organize study groups and then start union drives across Turtle Island.

This is great, but what about the UAW's endorsement of the tariffs including against Canada? What does that mean for the auto workers in Canada?
