That's a very kind review. My beef with Vallieres isn't about his economic beliefs. I'm sure everything he said in WNOA about the exploitation of French Quebecois at places like Angus Shops was true. I just have a hard time with him briefly living in the States and having the gall to equate Quebecois experience with that of Black Americans. And I had to do a couple-of-word intro of him to a generation of Canadians outside Quebec who've never heard of him, partly because they don't teach his book because of its name, partly because they don't teach much of anything about Quebec. The participation ribbon thing was a toss-off attempt to explain the entitlement of the "truckers". A lot of it has to do with white male privilege, but there's also been so much social/media messaging that "you're worth it" and "you deserve a break today" when, in fact, so many were just lazy slobs demanding political power and more unearned privilege. And many of them, including both the person who kicked off the "convoy" and one of its main organizers, were women. But,that aside, you've done another elegant job and I am very grateful that you bulldogged your way through the whole damned thng. Hopefully, the book will be irrelevant in a week or two, but I suspect he will not go quietly into that cold, dark night. If, in fact, he loses.

You've probably already guessed that I got this out in time for the election because I too think that this will be moved to the history section on Tuesday, which is fine because most of your books are there already (I was looking at other reviews when I was writing this and I think your publisher has a one liner about one of your other books under Ripper, calling Poilievre a fascinating 17th century character, which i thought was very funny). But it make the book even more important, as timing *is* everything and writing this book after a loss would have been impossible.

I do wish they'd kept to the fixed election date. The plus side: the summer is my own.

"Forty years of neoliberal economic policies has sold off Canada’s sovereignty to anyone who wanted to buy a piece of it"

Well said.

Tons on Byrne, mention of Bergen when she was interim, I don't recall Clement or Finlay being in there and I cant' remember about Novak and Hamilton.

Findlay's there (in and out). Poilievre wasn't high enough up the food chain to know Novak. Tony Clement? Not sure why his name's tossed in there. Because of the G-20? Again, Poilievre wasn't important enough to have been in that loop. Same with Arthur Hamilton. Bergen? What was importat about her? The Plymouth Brethren crowd didn't move in the same circles as Poilievre (he's in with the charismatic Catholics) but he will tap into any support. And the Klondike Papers are a rabit hole of conspiracy/truth that aren't relevant to Poilievre.

Has anyone interviewed Mrs. Poilievre? What was/is her reaction to her loving hubby working EVERYDAY with a woman he ummm knew for 11 years? “See ya honey. Just going over to Jenny’s to work on some speaking notes. Don’t wait up, I could be late.”

.. tut tut.. you ‘totally diminish.. nay - even ‘discount ethical Pierre’s astonishing ARC .. i see things visually btw.. even cinematically - check yer facts oy ! .. & not at the door ! Why not envision mr Poilievre within the ‘matrix of ‘conservatism existent in the times .. Ray is a ‘player .. mystery man.. but he was there way back with Stephen Lecce right on his heels as was Pierre - desperate times with trying to buy off a dying man’s ‘vote’ - & Come come re ‘why Ms Bergen ? That whole rotted Core goes way way back.. yes including the 2011 Robo skinimaroo - that ‘evangelical gambit has gone rogue for Steven Harper & Jenni.. mentored by the late great Black Ops Electoral Capo The honourable Finley.. These people are their own sort of swirly ‘poli sci coven.. a ‘society of sort - and the names I dangle - are All Vulnerable .. even - a danger to each other .. one legitimate whistleblower away from personal disaster & infamy - Tony Clement is Harper’s CPC Donor Bagman .. All these people are essentially ‘Core Reform .. That was ‘their Brand.. Preston Manning ‘style / Stockwell Day ‘stylin & there’s pierre ! They’re All In This (Calgary Skool of Together .. and so is and was - Plymouth Brethren in Guelph in 2011 + Sona .. Lecce sharing an office room in Fantino’s Election Office with ‘the superweapon .. and ‘the guy with a red goatee.. That guy made out like a bandit ! Free Publicity & Bonus Payout via The Courts..

Love what I hear of the Book ! To say Your ‘competition is Andrew Lawton .. is not meant as a slur at all.. Perhaps unwittingly - or egotistically he painted an illuminating ‘look back.. to where MainStream Media has barely scratched.. indeed ‘MainMedia being majority ‘conservative annexed - why would they wish to study Pierre & Jenni in detail circa 2010 & 2011 & The Company They Were Keeping.. the whole roiling Harper High Table septic think tank .. 🦎🏴‍☠️💋

Do you really think Fred DeLorey or Stephen Lecce does not know just about everything Arthur Hamilton KNOWS re Poutine ?

Do you believe Justin Trudeau does not know precisely why Ms Bergen suddenly became very homesick ?
