Just leaving you a big hug along with tremendous appreciation for everything you do, have done, and will continue to do to make this world a better place -- not just through your work but because of who you are and how you show up in the world. I'm not surprised that you've received hundreds of messages of support because you're someone who is deeply valued and cherished, even by people like me who haven't had the chance to meet you in person. I hope you're able to take good care of yourself while also doing whatever it is that continues to bring you joy and meaning and a sense of purpose as you navigate the challenging days/weeks/months ahead. I hope that every bit of goodness you've put out into the universe boomerangs back toward you 10,000 times over because you deserve nothing less. XO

Take good care, Nora. I hope this is not going to get real serious, the wrong guy told to fuck off serious. Fingers crossed. Thank you for speaking out in support of the oppressed and suffering, when almost everyone else goes silent in fear. And for good laughs. Now and over many years to come. Please do write, including about cancer. The mundanity shouldn't be a factor -- humans have been writing/telling about their mundane loves, hope, pain, telling people to fuck off, for quite some time ;) Your writing style is very direct and engaging but also reflective and profound -- a great reading experience. Take good care, best wishes!

I hope all will be well. Your incredible and I doubt I would able to even use humour with the waiting game and some of the bad news you’ve already be given. Take good care, and you got a friend/comrade in me whether you need one or not or whether you have enough or not. Being an indie left journalist is one of the most thankless job made worse by the lack of solidarity or basic help from likeminded folks. But the fact you soldier on is incredible and please get in touch with me on that topic because i’d love some tips how to “keep calm and carry on”. All my love and best Ms. Loreto! Oxo!

I enjoy your writing so much that if you wanted to do some navel-gazing writing about mundane things I would enjoy reading it. I wish you all the success possible.

Hey Norah: I am counting on you to do another piece for THE LEFT LANE after Carney does a major screw-up that will be of interest to UK readers. Or perhaps decides to be the PM of both Canada and the UK ( his former temporary home.) Alan Story, Norwich UK

Thanks for sharing, Nora. Since you made the announcement, thoughts of you linger a little longer after listening to the daily news, and I wondered about many of the things you addressed in your Q&A! By the way, I loved the recent grumpy cat cameo and also the car broadcast. Your commitment to keeping us informed in all circumstances is admirable. But take good care of yourself. You are a tough cookie and I feel like no matter what you’ve got this, but it is good that you are already preparing to slow down and rest when you need it. Your work is important, but your health more so (so you can keep on doing the good work!). Fuck cancer! Hugs.

What you say about relief and rest! I like to keep busy and a couple of years ago my kid and I were both diagnosed with cancer. The kid was cool, did research decided that if one was to have cancer that this was the one with the best outcomes. I knew skin cancer was inevitable so was glad I recognised it. I got time off work and community work and that was really great for doing my own thing. Art truly is a great counsellor! We were both more worried about each other! Half my friends did not hear about my cancer for a couple years! Bodies are interesting people are weird and it is the stuff life is made of.

I’m hoping for the best possible outcome for you! Thank you for your take and expressing things I could have never put into words.

I know 2 women who developed breast cancer who had ‘the genetic mutation’ and 20 plus years later are healthy. Yes a very small sample size but I think treatment protocols have been refined and made much more effective.
