ICYMI this week ...
From oil industry subsidies to Amazon workers, what you might have missed this week
The more I do these daily headlines briefs, the more I see connections in so much of the news. From Manitoba’s child poverty rate (the highest in Canada) to the multiple stories of abuse that come from the Lindsay, Ontario prison, the long arm of the state causes harm to so many people in so many ways. I especially was surprised to see how many stories that I had picked that were related to citizenship and refugees in this country, and how terrible we are to them.
The harm caused by the state is deep and relentless. Anyway, here’s what you might have missed this week.
