The past two days, I’ve been in Ottawa with staff and supporters of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives. I was elected its chair (previously called president) back in June and since, it has become a priority to get the staff from all over Canada into the same room.
It was the first time in nine years.
There’s nothing like being in the same room as someone, especially when you’ve only seen that person on Zoom. The meeting was an incredible two days of re-invigoration; something that felt exceedingly necessary as we steel ourselves for what is coming next.
You will likely see CCPA researchers on the news this next week. They will likely be talking about tariffs and the economy. The CCPA provides the foundation for so much social movement work — from understanding the issues to advocating for change based on that research, we’re so much better off when the CCPA is strong and well-resourced.
Consider donating to the CCPA. If you’re looking around at the world and unsure about how to get involved to resist rising fascism, an easy way is to send some money to the organization that helps us understand it all.
