ICYMI this week
A roundup of the Daily News podcast and what it's like to be almost done a new book.
What a week. Someone asked me today how I’m doing and I said that I feel like I’ve been gathered up into a slingshot and a giant is spinning me around and around and around and I’m not sure at what point he’s going to let go and set me free into the sun.
I’m currently writing a book and I’m in the last 10 days of finishing the manuscript. That isn’t exactly what’s making me feel all slingshotty — it’s much more related to the regular rhythm of the end of the school year — but there is, of course, some impact. All I can think of is the welfare state, Jean Chrétien and the rich men who graciously donated their rocks to local municipalities so that poor men could be paid peanuts to break them. This is all in the book and so sometime in 2024, I hope you too will be plagued by these thoughts.
If you missed any of the Daily News podcast this week, please take some time to listen. And as always, share! You are our network and we rely on you to tell others about the show.
