I took a few weeks off from this round-up because I was gallavanting. But that’s all done now. Kids have been home due to strikes since November 21. That’s a long time, in case you don’t instantly realize it. A long time. A lot of kids being home time. It’s like COVID-19 but nice — we don’t fear death from the groceries. So I’ll take it.
This past week, the Sandy and Nora podcast hit number ten on the Canadian podcast chart for politics podcasts. We usually peak somewhere beteen 10 and 20 each week. But this week, I actually paid attention and counted how many Canadian podcasts were ahead of ours. There were only two: Peter Mansbridge’s podcast and Pall Wells’.
We’re in the bigs now, folks.
Sadly, the bigs don’t pay anymore. Nor do they come with cohesive national platforms. We owe our popularity to word of mouth. Thanks, if you’ve ever told a friend to check us out.
Here’s the stories that I featured on this week’s Daily News Podcast. The common theme? Deportation and police violence — two related issues that seem to be getting more brutal and cruel.
