Last week, I said I have some news. Here it is:
I’ve signed a contract with Dundurn to write a series that is tentatively called Canada In Decline. The contract is for two books and the first one is on the social safety net. It will be out in 2024 and the books will be shorter than my others, with the hope that you devour the whole series.
I have a pretty tight writing schedule so from the end of the current article I’m working on (which should have been out already but that is life in this industry) until June, I’m going to be saying no to everything I can. So warning if ever you throw something my way.
I hope you will enjoy these books. I’m already having a blast writing Book One — and it reminds me that there has been so much forgetting done about the past 30 years that it’s no wonder people are confused about why we are where we are today.
Anyway!
This past week, news related to migrants dominated the Daily News podcast. From Canada expanding it’s deadly Safe Third Country Agreement to the fire in Ciudad Juraz that killed 39 or the 8 people who have been pulled from the St-Laurent, it’s been a week of news that demonstrates that borders kill and politicians do not care.
You can listen to any one you missed here.
