I’ve now been doing daily news headlines through my podcast Sandy and Nora for two weeks. If you haven’t started listening, make sure you tune in: https://play.acast.com/s/sandy-and-nora-talk-politics. Episodes are shorter than 10 minutes and are released around 9:05 EST daily.
It’s amazing how much news passes under the radar. With fewer and fewer locations for people to get a breadth of news coverage, lots of people have said that the news round-up is exactly what they’ve been looking for: something where they can get a few headlines and then go about their day after.
It’s hilarious to think about but I used to refresh the homepage of the Toronto Star every 20 or so minutes to see new stories break. When they redesigned the homepage to hide how much content they would evetually remove, I felt a very serious feeling of doom that digital news as it had been known up until then (this would have been 2009 or so) was over. As so many of us have come to rely on Twitter for a steady stream of news, as as our feeds seem to be increasingly throttled, it’s harder to catch the news that we used to.
Anyway, here’s the news you may have missed this week.
