As I write this, Internet has been knocked out in Gaza. Some messages are still escaping this Israeli prison but not much, and social media is full of comment from worried family members.
I think a lot about this poem from Rafeef Ziadah. I heard her perform it in Toront, at Ryerson I think, and I think about these words often. We teach life, sir. We Palestinians wake up every morning to teach the rest of the world life, sir.
