Here is my self-servingish list of options

If you are not interested in being solicited, I suggest you close this page right away. But, because it’s the holiday season and everyone is looking for the perfect gift, I would be remiss to not mention some of the projects that I’m involved in that could stand to receive a bit of dough.

So, if you’re still reading (thanks), I appreciate it. And if you’re still reading but you’re still going to close this right away, it’s all good. I appreciate that not everyone has spare change and I really, honestly, don’t expect that people fund my projects :)

Here are some gift ideas that, I dunno, might save you some hassle because they’ll be easy enough to give.

Of course, I need to hock my books. The two latest are the easiest to get. You can buy them at any store, but they smell best when you buy them from your local independent bookstore. Or, you can get them directly from the publisher or wherever else you get your books.

For the socially-minded

This past year, I co-founded a group called the Nii’kinaaganaa Foundation. We ask settlers to donate money as a sign of paying your rent to live on this land. With the money, we’ve helped dozens of Indigenous-lead initiatives through small grants. You can read about the projects here, or make a donation:

Ok ok, this might be obvious. Sandy and Nora is hoping to ditch our advertising in 2023. As such, we do need people to pay if they are able. For years, I looked for a place to call home for my column. I thought I had had that with the National Observer, only to be replaced by a died-in-the-wool liberal during the pandemic. But it wasn’t a total loss — I’ve been proud to write for Passage, an opinions site that publishes bold and unapologetic left-wing criticism.
